Camanna PL Shiraz - June 2008  Shiraz's udder - June 2008
                   three-year-old

Born: 4/7/05     Height:  22"     Registered: ADGA, AGS      blue eyed

Shiraz is about as mellow and sweet as a little goat could possibly be.  Even though her personality and color are awesome, we primarily kept Shiraz on our farm because of her grand-dam Dakota's awesome milking genetics.  This flashy doe always freshens with a gorgeous udder and we couldn't be more pleased.  Her rear udder is awesome and probably the highest in our herd.  This red gal is easy to milk and has plenty of capacity and production.  Shiraz could be a bit longer bodied but that isn't a big concern.  Ideally, Shiraz's teats would point down instead of forward but it is only this obvious with her udder very full.  In the show ring, Shiraz is starting to shine and did very well in 2008 with limited showing.  She missed all the big shows in 2009 because she didn't kid until late June.  My daughter shows Shiraz in 4H and likes her to have small kids at the 4H show to share with the public, thus the late kidding date.

Camanna Chaebree, Nigerian Dwarf doe in Oregon Camanna Chaebree, Nigerian Dwarf doe in Oregon

Born: 2/10/02      Height: 22 1/4”      Registered: ADGA, AGS

Chaebree was a beautiful kid and even won her first AGS championship at 2½ months-old. We were even more impressed when she freshened with nicely shaped, capacious udder that is easy to milk. This girl knows how to produce milk! This doe is one of the most persistant milk producers in our herd and is difficult to dry up. Chaebree is a really nice all-around doe and has stood at the front of the line-up many times when shown. She has won grand champion at an ADGA sanctioned show and reserve grand champion senior doe at an AGS sanctioned show. If I could improve on Chaebree's conformation, I would give her a greater area of udder attachement, tighter shoulders, and a longer, leaner neck. Chaebree has been producing some awesome daughters when bred to Wave Runner. For the past two years, she has had a winning daughter in the champion junior doe class at the Oregon State Fair. She also has a yearling milking daughter in Florida who has already won several Best of Breed and Best Udder awards. Chaebree is Shantelle's 4H showmanship goat and the two of them make quite a team.

Molly's rear udder actually looked more impressive the following weekend at a show but
we were too hot and tired to take new pictures after the show.

Molly wouldn't pose pretty for us in the photo above, however, on the move, she always has judges commenting on her level topline.  As a yearling doe, Molly surprised us at the Oregon State Fair by surpassing all the older does and winning "Supreme Best Udder" of the Nigerian breed.  She also won "Best Junior Doe in Show" at her first ADGA show as a dry yearling.  Molly is an elegant doe with a long neck, very long body, and lots of dairy character.  She also has very good feet and legs.  She has a beautiful, strong topline (when walking) and a perfect slope to her wide rump.  Molly is a wonderful little dairy goat with a beautiful udder that is well attahced and easy to milk.  Ideally, Molly would be more uphill, and have a smoother fore udder.  After a three year break, Molly was back in the show ring in 2010 and doing very well.  Molly's gorgeous daughter, Sonata, became a finished champion in a weekend as a two-year-old at a four ring show.
If this flashy doe will learn to hold her head up in the show ring, I think she can be a finished champion some day as well.

Born: 3/06/05     Height:  21 1/4"     Registered: ADGA, AGS      polled

I knew this doeling was a "keeper" the moment I saw her. I have to admit, this is my favorite doe born on our farm in 2005 - and we had a record number of doe kids to choose from.  Fancy is elegant and stylish and catches people's eye where ever she goes.  This photo doesn't do her justice!  On the move, Fancy is very level and has nice sharp shoulders and a pretty dairy goat "wedge" shape.  In addition, she has great thin, loose, dairy skin and flat bones.  Fancy has been shown eight times, usually placing first in her class.  She went on to be the junior champion at the Oregon State Fair in 2005 and won a reserve GCH in an ADGA sanctioned show in June of 2008.  Although Fancy doesn't have a perfect udder attachment, she is a improvement over her dam and has a very nice udder overall. To top it off, Fancy is polled and is as sweet as can be.

    Magic's udder - 2006

Born:
2/19/02      Height:  20"      Registered:  ADGA, AGS

Magic is a petite, dark chocolate colored doe with a couple of small white patches.  This little doe has a nice long, level body and correct conformation with an especially wide rear leg set and very level rump.  I am especially impressed with her thin dairy skin, flat ribbing, and short glossy hair coat.  Magic is developing body capacity and has a nice angular, wedge-shaped body.  As you can see in the picture above, Magic has a nice shaped udder with excellent teat placement and good medial division.  Magic has a very high rear udder attachement but ideally it could be even a little wider in the rear and extend further in the fore but that is being quite critical.  Magic is easy to hand milk and is a very persistant milk producer.  This gal just adores me and looks at me with such love with her brown eyes that I couldn't part with her even if she wasn't such a good show and milking doe.  Yes, her ears are set a bit low but we still think she is a special older gal.

Update!  WOW!  We showed Magic in a three ring show as a six-year-old last year (6/7/08) and she won Grand Champion twice and reserve Grand Champion once in an ADGA sanctioned show.  The judges loved her dairy character and awesome udder attachment.  In a second show a week later, Magic won another reserve grand champion award in an ADGA sanctioned show.  In 2009, Magic was shown twice more and won a fourth reserve champion award.  Hopefully she will be finished some day!  Her yearling daughter, Divinity, won in all six show rings she competed in (2009) and has a gorgeous udder.
