Now a finished champion!  I will update soon!

I almost sold Bianca three times but for one reason or another, it never worked out.  I finally decided God wanted me to keep this very pretty cream colored doe.  I can’t find fault with Bianca’s conformation and she is a sweetheart on top of that.  Bianca has one of the nicest set of feet and legs in our herd.  The only thing I would change about Bianca is her size; she is a big girl but still well below the breed height limit.  Although I really admire Bianca’s dam, Desiree, and her success in the show ring, in many ways Bianca surpasses her dam.  Bianca has more rear leg angulation, tight, sharp shoulders, and more dairy character.  Now that Bianca has freshened four times, I can proudly say that she has an udder even nicer than her MCH dam.  (The udder picture above was taken late in lactation and her udder was much more impressive several months before the photo was taken.)  Apparently the judges agree with me because Bianca came home from the 2007 Oregon State Fair with both the Supreme Best Udder banner and also won Grand Champion Doe against stiff competion.  Bianca also won a grand champion award at her only other show this year.  I need to get this gal in the show ring more!

blue eyed

Delilah stole my heart when she was born with her precious little face and her big, black-rimmed, blue eyes.  My husband commented that she looked more like a deer – with blue eyes.  Delilah is dairy and refined with nice overall conformation and nice sharp withers and tight shoulders.  The judge at the 2007 Oregon State Fair liked Delilah and placed her high in her class, but in 2008, Delilah won it all.  This little gal not only won Grand Champion Senior Doe and Supreme Best Udder, but she also won Best of Breed and unseated my old doe Dakota who has won Best of Breed at the Oregon State Fair for the past four years.  I wouldn’t change much about this pretty doe’s conformation, especially now that she has matured.  Delilah has a beautiful udder and impresses me with her ease of milking and soft, velvety udder texture.  Her udder capacity at the 2008 Oregon State Fair was very impressive, almost twice the size of her udder in the photos above.  The increased udder capacity also improved her medial division and teat placement as well.  If Delilah keeps getting better with age as she has been, she will be one to watch in the show ring next year.

Born: 6/17/05       Height:  20 1/4"      Registered:ADGA,AGS
blue eyed

Veronica's flashy color pattern and conformation are eye catching but where she really stands out is actually something felt and not seen. This little doe has splendid dairy character with flat bones, nice ribbing, and loose, thin skin.  In addition, Veronica has very good feet and legs and a nice level topline.  Check out this little gal's well extended brisket.  If I could improve this blue eyed doe's conformation, I would give her sharper withers and tighter shoulders and more length of body. Although I am happy with the capacity, fore and rear attachments, ease of milking, and general appearance of Veronica's first freshening udder, I expect her to have a fuller rear udder and more medial division with her next lactation. Flash Dancer's daughters' udders take a while to reach their potential but when they do, WOW!  We just adore this little gal and are happy to have her as part of our herd.

Camanna CS Acapella - 2010

Acapella's side udder - 2010     Acapella's rear udder - 2010

Born:
  1/29/06        Registered:  ADGA

Will update the writing soon!  Acapella became part of my herd about a year ago and I am so happy to have her.  She is three-years-old but is just a first freshener.  Her udder is well attahced and nicely shaped.  Although her teats were quite small with her first freshening, she was still easy to hand milk.  She is one of the smallest does in my herd but had no trouble kidding and was an excellent mother.  She doesn't do so well leading, more of a drag situation, so she probably won't be shown too soon.  Forgive the "hairy" picture in the pasture but the weather was too cold to clip her.  Acapella's half sister, Sonata, just won her ADGA championship and I have hopes that Acapella will be impressive with future freshenings as well.
