Josie is one of the cutest little goats I have ever seen. Part of it is her personality. Her big brown eyes and adorable face just add to her charm. Jostan, my 14-year-old son, selected Josie to be his 4H goat when she was a newborn kid. I am more pleased with his selection as she matures. Wow, this girl can make milk! Josie is easy to milk and has persistent production. We finally got Josie in the show ring in 2011 and she started off by winning Grand Champion in a large show and the following weekend she won a second grand champion as well as a reserve. The judges LOVED her mammary system, especially the height of her rear udder attachment.  I think Josie has the highest rear udder attachment I have ever seen on a Nigerian.  Judges also comment on Josie’s good balance and nice dairy character.  Ideally, Josie would have more rear leg angulation and straighter front legs but as you can see above, she isn’t bad.  Josie is a permanent member of our farm family and is much loved.
